The 2010 Frozen Four was being held at Ford Field this year. I knew it would be a fun event just because they built a hockey rink on top of the football field. I shot the semi-final game as well as the championship game. I was working for the Boston College Athletic Department and since they won the National Championship no need to talk about the semi-finals.

I got the opportunity of a life time to shoot one of the best college football bowl games around. The 2010 Roes Bowl, where Ohio State would face the Oregon Ducks.

After shooting the Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers game Friday night, I was up at 6am to make the 3 hour drive to Pittsburgh to shoot the Big East Championship between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Pittsburgh Panthers.
I got into downtown around 9am, its has been a while since I have been to the city and I forgot about the confusing one way streets and how bad the parking is around the stadium. I didn’t have a media parking pass, so I ended up parking like a block away and had to hoof it to the stadium.

After taking a couple of days off from shooting Toledo at Central Michigan. I had to cover Iowa Hawkeyes at Ohio State for the Big Ten Title and a trip to the Rose Bowl for the winning team.
I picked up my friend Lindsay who would be helping out during the game around 10:00 and made the trip down to Columbus. It was a 3:30pm kick off and when you have to shoot at Ohio State you have to make sure you show up early to fight the other 110,000 people all trying heading to the same place. I got lucky and was only stuck in traffic for about 10 minutes. I headed over to the media parking found my spot and I was off to the stadium. I headed up to the media room to pick up the awesome McDonalds Mr. Flurry they have for the media to snack on!

Last weekend I was down in Cincinnati to cover the Connecticut Huskies vs. the Cincinnati Bearcats. It was the ESPN ABC prime time game which meant it was on 8 pm and anytime you are shooting a prime time game the atmosphere in the stadium is awesome.
I got to the stadium two hours prior to the game where I enjoyed some good media food in the extremely packed press box. After I was done eating I asked around to see if they had a field level work room for photographers, but I was shit out of luck! I was going to setup in the pressbox but I really didn’t feel like running up and down the stairs to transmit photos I took my laptop in my book bag transmitted from the field which saves a lot of time and allows you to beat the other photographers.
Once all set up I walking around the stadium and I saw ESPN personality Kirk Herbstreit reporting from the sidelines.
