NFL: Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns

The Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns is my 6th football game since December 5th. After below freezing temperatures in Chicago for the Dallas game, I was well prepared but the Browns were. With the return of Jay Cutler and the playoffs on the line the Bears to come away with a win and they did just that.

For the fourth year in a row, I would have to work on Thanksgiving Day covering the Green Bay Packers vs the Detroit Lions. Detroit is 0-9 over the past nine years on Thanksgiving and this was their year! With Aaron Rodgers being hurt the Lions were able to pull out a 40-10 victory.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveled from warm sunny Florida to play indoors where it’s always 75 degrees. The 2-9 Buccaneers came to play defeating the Detroit Lions 24-21. The only thing I don’t understand about the Lions are how can you have a QB throw for 5,000 yards year after year and a receiver with 9,000 career receiving yards and only score an average of 25 points per game the whole season. I will let everyone thing about that.

Ohio State hosted Florida A&M. I knew heading into the game it would be a complete blow out but it was a good game to knock out a bunch of stock photos that I am unable to during a Big 10 conference game. It wasn’t much of a game but I was able to come away with a few nice frames.

Over the last two months I have been heavily focusing on aerial photography. I have done two helicopter rides getting different aerial photos of downtown Toledo and the surrounding areas. Over the last few months I have become good friends with Jake Tyler who is the head grounds keeper for the Toledo Mud Hens. And he mentioned he owned a hot air balloon, I have been bugging him over the last few weeks about getting me up to experience another ride in the sky.

My final top on the NHRA tour was in Norwalk, Ohio. It’s one of my favorite tracks due to it being only 40 minutes away from my house. It also has a great fan experience allowing great access to the pits and nice grandstands. In Norwalk, top fuel dragster driver Khalid Albalooshi and funny car driver Johnny Gray brought home their first Wally of the season!

Please enjoy the rest of the photos.

From February 24th thru March 4th was the busiest week at The Huntington Center since it’s opened. I was talking with Mike McCall who is the Events Service Manager at the arena and he said the staff would be working extremely long hours to switch the arena from hockey to concerts back to hockey.

So I wanted to document this, but the I would actually be going on vacation. With the help of my friend Jeremy Allen we made this happen. On the 24th, we arrived at the arena to start setting up. I would be using a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition.
