NFL: Preseason-Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions

NFL game number two for me this year and everyone is still talking about Johnny Manziel. After battling it out with Brian Hoyer in training camp, he got to show what he has against the Detroit Lions. Manziel  7-for-11 for 63 yards with six rushes for 27 yards. He made the play (photo above) getting away from Van Noy look easy.

The game was very uneventful, lots of running by Johnny and lots of field goals by both teams as neither scored a touchdown.

Let’s get on with the photos.

NFL: Cleveland Browns-Training Camp

Before heading down to Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities, I made a stop in Akron where the Cleveland Browns where having a family day scrimmage open to the fans. It was full go, hitting, tackling and touchdown celebrations.

Long lines wrapped around the stadium to get in and the stands where packed to see Johnny Manziel. I can’t wait until he scores his first NFL touchdown. I think the internet might break!

NFL: Cleveland Browns-Training Camp

August is finally here, and that means one thing! Football season. With the NFL kicking off training camp last week, competition is among us. Players are battling for a starting spot and the heat is on in Cleveland. Rookie quarterback Jonny Manziel is battling with a Cleveland local Brian Hoyer for the starting spot.

My first preseason game is this weekend- Buffalo Bills vs New York Giants at Pro Football Hall of Fame. I have around 30 NFL games on the schedule this year, which is going to make for a fun season.

NFL: Cleveland Browns-OTA

Johnny Football is the only freshman to win the Heisman Trophy and the only player in NCAA history to have 5,000 total yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a season and set the SEC record with 5,116 yards of total offense. NFL analysis projected him to be the first quarterback picked in the 2014 NFL draft, but he fell to the 22nd pick being drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

I personally like Manziel’s type of play, it’s something different the NFL hasn’t seen. With this being such a big story in the media I got the opportunity to spend 25 minutes at Browns OTA to knock off as many photos as I could to be used for articles over the next few months.

NFL: Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns

The Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns is my 6th football game since December 5th. After below freezing temperatures in Chicago for the Dallas game, I was well prepared but the Browns were. With the return of Jay Cutler and the playoffs on the line the Bears to come away with a win and they did just that.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Cleveland Browns

Week 13 of the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars were 2-9 going into the game and the took full advantage of the Browns mistakes. Good thing about the game, I got to see a few old friends, wide receiver Jeremy Ebert, who I played travel baseball with when I was younger and tight end Danny Noble who I played football with at Toledo.

Following covering two college football games in one day, I had to drive overnight from Bloomington to Cincinnati. I got to my hotel around 2:00am. When I woke up in the morning, I had a pleasant surprise, I had a killer view of Paul Brown Stadium and the Cincinnati skyline.

Football season is finally back! Well, it’s been back for a while but since I was in London I missed three NFL preseason games. My goal this season is shoot 50 games between NFL and College. People think I am crazy but football has been in my life since I was born and I enjoy every minute of it!

My first NFL game of the season was a preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles at Cleveland Browns. The game started at 7:30pm, and I arrived in Cleveland around 4:00pm to meet up with another photographer before heading down to the stadium.
