You have one opportunity to capture the unique experiential shots during the day of your event, and it’s crucial that you get that emotion-evoking photography to use, for a number of reasons. It can be crucial that you hire event professional photography.

For those who are frequent readers of my blog and follow me on Facebook and Instagram know that I am around hot air balloons a lot. There is just something so magical about hot air balloons that I just can’t describe.

Four weeks ago local balloonist Jake Tyler contacted me about being part of a committee to bring the Glass City Ballon Race to life! We spent weeks and hours contacting companies for sponsorships and donations and in a very short time we put together a great event!

Little less than a month ago, Snapchat launched On-Demand Geofilters. It allows people and businesses to create and purchase custom Geofilters for a house party, wedding, a coffee shop or a campus wide-event. It also allows advertisers to run an event specific advertisement in a specific area. This is going to change the way advertisers reach a specific audience in 2016.

On St. Patricks Day, I put the Snapchat Custom Geofilters to the test. I created a Happy St. Patrick’s Day Geofilter Sponsored by Andrew Weber Photography. I used these in two specific areas in downtown Toledo, where large amounts of people were going to parties.

NFL: Super Bowl XLIX-New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks

I had the opportunity to spend a week in Phoenix working with the awesome USA Today Sports Images team to document Super Bowl XLIX. It was a long week with long hours, but at the end of the game the images that were made by the team were amazing. All of the logistics and technology that goes into the Super Bowl is like no other event in the country.

Spending two straight days running power and ethernet cable to power three remote cameras in the catwalk along with trying to shoot feature photos through out the city.

The Super Bowl is truly a special event.

NCAA Football: Ohio State at Michigan State

There is nothing like a good Big 10 Conference battle between ranked teams. Ohio State was ranked #13 going into East Lansing. Even though the temperatures where in the low 30s, the sidelines weren’t moveable I walked away with some photos I was extremely happy with.
