About two weeks ago after I covered my last high school basketball game I thought basketball season was over. But little to he hold the Bowling Green Falcons got a first round bye in the Womens National Invitational Tournament and would host Syracuse at home. This being one of very few tournaments held at Anderson Arena it turned out to be a very exciting game.
I shot the player introduction looking for one of the girls doing something different.

Then for the tip off I wanted to shoot a wide angle version and a tight version at the same time. So I got both my cameras ready, one in each had.
Nikon D700, 14-24mm f2.8, 1/400th, 3200iso
Nikon D3, 70-200, f2.8, 1/400th, 4000iso
Here is a little video I put to together with about 10 still clips for a little movie.
Then I hurried to my position below the basket and got to work. The first half of the game was pretty boring so we will fast forward to the second half. Senior Niki McCoy tried to catch a pass but it went right threw her hands. Oops..
Nikon D3, 70-200, f2.8, 1/500th, 4000iso
Nikon D3, 70-200 (1.4x), f2.8, 1/400th, 6400iso
Bowling Green was making a huge come back and Freddie the Falcon was going crazy.
Nikon D3, 70-200, f2.8, 1/500th, 4000iso
Bowling Green was down my 2 points and Senior Niki McCoy tied the game up with this basket.

Then moments later after a steal Sophomore Lauren P. put the Falcons ahead.

And the Bowling Green bench was crazy!
Just after Bowling Green sealed the victory and was ready to celebrate Lauren Prochaska was on the ground because she hurt her knee. An awesome victory quickly wasn’t as import for the Bowling Green players. They were more concered with Lauren being ok then anything else.
She suffered a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise and will be listed day by day.
